What most chiropractors don’t know is that the real power in any good marketing campaign (particularly Internet marketing) is in generating a list of highly targeted prospects. The best part is, a good Internet marketing campaign will automatically separate good prospects from bad prospects: or to put it another way, to separate the PROSPECTS from the SUSPECTS.
As the Internet marketing guru’s will tell you, “the money is in the list.”
How can a list help you? Assume that through you were able to generate a list of only 5000 names and email addresses of targeted prospects in your area (the word “targeted” is key). Get this: If every one of those prospects spent only $100 on you in a year, you would have $500,000 in sales. And the reality is that many of those clients will spend much more than $100…
The power of a prospect list is truly amazing.
Go back through your records and start list all of your past patients, friends, neighbors, and business acquaintances–this is the beginning of your list. This week, go back and make contact with as many as possible by sending them a short note or card… You may be surprised at what happens!

For all industries, Internet “best practices” are to have an email address associated with your domain. In other words, drbob@familychiropractic.com instead of drbob@gmail.com
This is highly recommended for several reasons:
First, it gives legitimacy to your business–a domain email address ties you to your practice.
Second, if gives you the ability to distinguish between your personal email and your professional email. At this stage of your practice it may not be an issue for you, but as your practice continues to grow, you may or may not want everyone to have your personal email address.
Third, it gives you the ability to hand “your” professional email address off to your CA at some point. Patients still feel as though they have “your” email address, but sorting, prioritizing, and perhaps even answering those emails can then be delegated as your practice grows.
Last, it gives you the ability to segregate and systematize your email follow up based on the source of the email–very powerful for marketing automation!
Don’t worry, most web hosts let you forward email addresses, so you can continue to use your personal account. Just have your business accounts forwarded to your personal email address. It will be seamless for everyone including you, your patients, and you prospects.
